Is it the habit of Belgian journalists to present their article to the interviewee for approval prior to publication?
I’m struggling with this…. I always thought that - deontologicaly - journalists never presented their article to the interviewee for review prior to publication.
And if they did, it is a courtesy from the journalist.
And if an article was presented for review, we check only the facts, but stayed away from the tone (positive, neutral, negative) of the article.
Never the less, I hear from all directions that it is becoming generaly accepted to ask journalists to review their article prior to publication.
I would like to know the journalists point of view in this.
